Boston Family Photography | Full vs Mini: What’s Right for your family
Being in the business of Boston Family Photography, I often get the question: Should I book a full session or a mini?
Let’s Debunk one myth:
In my 6 plus years in this business, the one thing I hear from parents the most is “we need a mini because my kids won’t sit still long enough for a full session” and my response is always, well that is exactly WHY you NEED a full family session!! Those kiddos that can’t sit still, those are my lifetime to amazing images. There’s less pressure to “sit and smile” when you are given the freedom to be YOU, move around and create memories together!
20 Minute Mini Sessions:
- Ideal for returning clients who have children (and husbands) that are comfortable with me and my style as a Boston photographer.
- Perfect for families with older kids who aren’t shy in front of the camera.
- For families who don’t mind having me select a location for you.
- Focus on the “posed” shot for a holiday card and less on the connection, natural images.
- Great for families who have serious time restrictions.
- A great amount of time for families with 1 young child
60 Minute Full Sessions:
- Perfect for families with multiple children and children under the age of 6.
- Need help with styling? Unsure of what to wear – a full session allows me to help you choose family outfits!
- A good choice for families who have a/some kid(s) who are slow to warm up and/or have stranger danger
- The biggest perk is the ability to choose your location. Of course I will send you many amazing options, but we can shoot wherever you’d like from your home to the beach to a park or museum. It is entirely up to you and we LOVE shooting at places that are meaningful to your family
- The right fit for kids who need a lot of time to run around between shots
- The right choice for families who are hoping for images beyond the standard family poses and love the creative/playful shots
- Good for families looking to adventure/explore a location and get multiple backdrops
- You love photos and love the in between moments. In a full gallery, you will receive 50+ fully edited images, which include many of the more fun, playful and “in between” moments
