As Spring is finally springing, I couldn’t resist rounding up my top parks in Hopkinton. Incorporating play into my photography sessions is vital, but even outside of my work, being active and exploring playgrounds near me in Hopkinton was one of my FAVORITE things to do with my boys. Even though my boys are a bit older now, those morning park meet-ups are still some of our favorite memories! I hope this list sparks some fresh ideas for family fun!!
BONUS: At the very end, I will share my absolute favorite spot to take my boys for a guaranteed good time!
A local favorite, this is the best playgrounds in Hopkinton to meet up with your friends, grab a quick lunch or even plan a park birthday party. This park offers a fenced in area (bonus!) with plenty of options for kiddos of all ages. A double and triple bonus of this playground is that it comes with 3 baseball fields and a brand new skate park for those kiddos that like skateboards. During non-school hours, you can walk over to the connected Elementary school for even more fun! The negatives: it can get a bit run down as the summer wears on and there is only one port-a-potty. Let’s Get You There!
This one was a FAVORITE when my youngest was in preschool and brings back to many great memories of post school park lunch meetups. Definitely one of the best playgrounds in Hopkinton, well close by at least! A wide open park with many fun things for kids of all ages to do. The highlights are the very large climbing structure probably best suited for the older daredevils or the large saucer swings that kiddos of all ages enjoy. Note, this park is right along a reservoir so is always a little windy! Note, only one port-a-potty & bring cash, the ice cream truck swings through on the regular! Let’s Get You There!
Okay, I have to be honest with you here, this one is TOP NOTCH since its massive overhaul two summers ago. I have only been one time since then but I liked it a lot before but I love it now! Its so bright and clean. So many fun features that you simply don’t see at any other playground around Hopkinton. From the bright colors, to climbing walls and even one giant slide this park offers everything kids & parents want from a local playgound. Top two parent features: it is completely fenced in and there is a community center next door with bathrooms!! While this isn’t directly in Hopkinton, its a playground near me that I would not miss! Let’s Get You There!
This is a fabulous playground especially for the younger kiddos. There are so many cute houses and lots of swings for kids under 4. Its completely fenced in and allows for the mamas to be able to let their kiddos get out some energy without worry. The twirly merry-go-round is a must do for kids of all ages. Bonus is there are attached bathrooms. In the summer months, there is even a small splashpad to cool down in!! Let’s Get You There!
To me, this playground is a hidden gem. When I have suggested it to parents in the past, most don’t know about it and honestly its not the easiest to find as it’s hidden behind the Southborough Parks & Rec Department Building. Completely fenced in and often totally empty, this playground brings a shaded picnic area (though this part is the only shade so bring your sunscreen) where you can enjoy a break (yeah parents!) or a lunch before sending your kids off on an adventure. Theres a blacktop area to explore biked or scooters, a colorful, circular climbing structure and loads of swings for kids of all ages. This is a great park for the busy parents who need a few minute break! Let’s Get you there!
Purgatory Chasm isn’t super close to Hopkinton, but its worth the drive I PROMISE. Pack the car with some snacks and maybe a picnic lunch and head out because you won’t want to miss this. Hiking, playground, picnic area, rock slides, rock climbing. This place has it ALL. Do your research and check to see if your kiddos are able to handle the rock part of the hiking but if not, there is so much else to do there you won’t be disappointed. You can take the younger kiddos to the fun playground while the older kids do the rocks. There are plenty of trails that skip the rocks! Pro tip: if you go on a weekend, go early to avoid the crowds. And double pro tip: head to West End Creamery down the street to treat yourself to a DELICIOUS treat when you’re done. You deserve it!
There are many more best parks and playgrounds in Hopkinton; this list is just my top 5! Hope this helped make your spring a little brighter and shake some of the winter cobwebs!
See you at the playground!
