Well Phew, another year in the books! This year was one of the ages. Between seniors, sports portraits, family sessions and school portraits, I have been able to capture memories for 209 families in the Greater Boston area this year. I am truly blown away by that number and hope that it only grows in 2025!
I am continuing the tradition of these fun awards this year. Please remember these are just for fun. I love allllll my clients and I would give everyone an award if I could. Just because you are not on here, doesn’t mean I didn’t love my time and my time with you and our images. So let’s get into it!
When I was hired to do a branding session for a dentist office, I knew I would need to brush 5 times a day for the entire week leading up to keep up with the gorgeous teeth I would see in this office! Not only did this office have beautiful smiles, but they brought the FUN and the personalities to this branding session!
Last winter I had the once in a lifetime opportunity for a Boston photographer to travel to White Sands National Park. I had the honor of photographing this amazing family in conjunction with NAPCP and despite some insane winds, a very long and windy bus ride, a little bit of nausea, we create some amazing memories and WOW some amazing images. The results blew me away and had me craving MORE adventure sessions!!
This session was my last senior of the year and the sky really showed up and showed out. A mid November day in the 50s was certainly unexpected and as we drove up to Medfield State, I knew we were in for quite the sky!
You wouldn’t know it from looking at it, but this session was cold & very windy. Chicago may have the nickname of the windy city but its not because its the actual windiest city (did you know its actually because of the politics??). Boston ranks higher than Chicago in terms of the wind, but you would never know it from looking at this Catholic Memorial’s Senior photos.
There is just something to be said about a tattooed arm that just brings an image to the next level. Am I right?!?! In 2025 bring me all the tattoos….full sleeves, half sleeves, legs. My secret, I have 2!! Do you know where?
When I tell you these sweet siblings were ALL ABOUT their baby brother, I am not exaggerating. I couldn’t take a shot of them where they weren’t wanting their baby brother to be a part of the photo. But truly can you blame them? Look at this kiddo!
Shoutout to all the amazing siblings in these photos who showed that sibling love truly is the best love!
As a mom of 2 boys, I know active. I also know that when I receive an inquiry for a session with 4 boys, I better bring my running shoes. That said, this family was chock full of sweet boys who not only brought the action but they brought the sweet & snuggly.
When the sunsets just right and the location allows, I jump at the chance to do something a little different. Creating a silhouette shot where the sun flare is just at the horizon, chef’s kiss!
Mamas are often the ones behind the camera, capturing all the moments for their family. So I like the celebrate them when they are in front of my camera. For the few moments they aren’t the CEO of the household, taking care of everyone else before themselves!
Truth? I can’t do a cartwheel. I went to a high school where cheerleading wasn’t a sport. But when Attleboro HS reached out to have me photograph their Varsity and JV cheer teams, I knew I was up for something fun and unique! And wow, did these girls bring it!
These two seniors tried something new with me this year, taking what I love to do with school portraits and bringing it to senior sessions and I would say, its a winning combination. To see a senior’s personality shine through. With nothing more than the white backdrop, you SHINE!
When I begin to think about locations for seniors, I challenge myself (and them) to think outside of the box. To think beyond the wildflowers, beach and the foliage to come up with a location that may be more unique or true to them. This senior’s mother is a photographer and I knew she would be up for the two locations I had been DYING to try. And I was right! Here’s to more unique places in 2025 that represent the seniors and bring some more fun & creativity to sessions.
Nothing makes me happier than when either a client or a photographer reacts to my photos by saying “ah, we just feel the JOY!” Its the one emotion I love to capture more than anything else. When I was looking back at my sessions this year and this gallery popped onto my screen, I couldn’t help but chant,HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY. I knew this award had to go to this session. But trust me, there were so many other contenders. So many joyful families in 2024 and I hope so many more in 2025.
Sometimes a photo just NEEDS to be in black and white. Whether it’s the emotional connection, the emphasis on the details, the dynamic light, or the texture that just screams to be converted. I can’t tell you why or how I know. I just do.
Simple. Moments in time captured. These are some of my those moments which stand out for me as authentically them.
When you have 6 adults and 6 kids to get ready for a session, there surely are alot of opinions. Yes, I give all my clients lot of advice but to really put it all together, this family nailed it from head to toe. Relying on some really fun pops of color paired with some neutrals really brings these images to life!
I am lucky to take this family’s photos year after year. I think at first we joked that we should recreate this image from our very first session in 2020, but the tradition has been going strong ever since. Do you think they will indulge me when they are teenagers?!?!
This award goes to the Division 2 SUPER BOWL Champion Catholic Memorial Football team, who I was able to capture several games for. If you know me, you know that I grew up watching the MISERABLE years of the New England Patriots. They were bad, so bad in fact they were often blacked out in their own market. My dad and I would have to listen to them on the radio. But I was then blessed with the Brady Era, 20 golden years of winning. Sorry to everyone who doesn’t love Brady, Belichick and the best era in New England Sports. But I digress. Being this close to the field for this team was so fun for me and hardly felt like a job. You know what I noticed though, I was the ONLY female photographer there. And there were alot of photographers. Time to change that ladies!
Well if you made it this far down, THANK YOU!! This was so, so fun to do and I hope you loved reading it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together. Here’s to an even more amazing 2025. Ready to book? Let’s chat!
