When should you book a Boston Senior Photographer?
Let this Boston Senior Photographer ask you a few questions first…
One of the most asked questions is “when should I get my Boston senior photos done?”
To answer that question, any Boston senior photographer should ask a few questions that will get you the right answer.
- When are your yearbook photos due?
- Where do you want to have your yearbook photos done?
- Do you have a quieter time of year to have your photos done?
- Is there a particular emotion you want your senior pictures to have?
Senior year is BUSY! Trust me, even though it was 20+ years ago for this Boston senior photographer, I remember how quickly senior year flew by. College visits and applications, senior activities, sports commitments, ALL the senior fun days! Seniors find themselves busy once the year actually begins.
I encourage all juniors to reach out in the spring of their junior year. Trust me, don’t wait. I book most of my seniors during the summer before their senior year. Some creep into the fall, but most of the local high schools have early to mid fall due dates for senior portraits. I know it seems early, but that’s how it is in Massachusetts.
Spring (of your Junior year) Senior Sessions:
Maybe you are away for the summer and play a fall sport and just know that you need to get these off your to do list. Reach out early, and let’s book a blossom session! Spring is beautiful in New England. This is also a PERFECT time for a beach session before the swarms come in the summer.
Summer Senior Sessions:
With summer comes more flexibility in scheduling. I am able to schedule a lot during the week which is when I work the most in the summer. Summer sessions are perfect for seniors who want:
- Urban setting in Boston
- Wildflower sessions (August)
- Beach session (mid week only)
Boston Fall Senior Sessions:
If you just really want that fall feeling, please keep in mind school deadlines. If you are one of the lucky ones that have a November or December deadline, great!! So many amazing options for you in the fall. This is the busiest time of year for my business so we will need to book early and know that my turnaround time for delivery is 3+weeks at this time of year. I recommend no later than mid-October.
